Head of UGCC reports on events in Ukraine to Pope

On May 24-25, at the Vatican, the IX sessional meeting of the Ordinary Council of the Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops of the Catholic Church is held. The meeting is chaired by Pope Francis.

Head of the UGCC Patriarch Sviatoslav I staking part in the Couuncil’s work as a member of the Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops. During the work of this important body of the universal Church the patriarch met with Pope Francis, who inquired about the events in Ukraine and once again assured of his sympathy to the Ukrainian people and constant prayer for all who suffer.

The meeting agenda includes preparation of a draft text "Instrumentum Laboris" and methodology of holding XIV General Assembly of the Pontifical Synod to be held in October 2015 themed “Mission and vocation of the family in the Church and in the world today.” It is reported by the Information Department of the UGCC.
