Helping those in need will be the best gift for me, His Beatitude Sviatoslav on the eve of his anniversary

On May 5, 2020, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the UGCC, celebrates his 50th birthday. On this occasion he asks not to give him any gifts. He explains that the best gift for him will be prayer and help for those who really need it.

“I really want to ask everyone not to give me any gifts.  Please make all the gifts you would like to give me as a donation to the Coronavirus Foundation, which was founded by our Church,” says the UGCC Primate and adds: "It will be the greatest gift for me."

 His Beatitude Sviatoslav also states that knowing that someone prays for him is very important to him: “Prayer is an invaluable treasure and gift.  Therefore, if you talk about me with the Lord God, about my infirmities, my needs, then the Lord God will give me at the right moment exactly what I will need.  Therefore, my request to you: pray for me!”
