30.05.2021, 10:02

The head of the UOC-MP Representation to European International Organizations, Bishop Viktor of Baryshiv, commented on the statements of the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, which he expressed at a meeting with the representative of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, Metropolitan Emmanuel of chalcedony, that today in Ukraine all faiths feel "free and independent".

This is reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC-MP.

"The faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church would really like President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky not to imitate his predecessor in relation to the church and not try to use it to achieve any political goals," the representative of the "Persecuted" Church said.

The bishop of the UOC-MP reminded that according to the Constitution of Ukraine, the Church is separated from the state.

"Therefore, attempts to use it, influencing internal church life and forcing them to follow a certain political ideology are not only unconstitutional but also lead to defeat," he stressed.

We remind you that the previous government, which is complained about in the UOC-MP, granted this denomination so much land which would accommodate five Vatican cities.

According to the famous religious scholar Viktor Yelensky, UOC-MP statements about "harassment" are the Kremlin's fantasies.
