On 26 August, on the day of the consecration of Bishop Borys Gudziak, the Ambassador of USA to Ukraine John Tefft read out a greeting address from the US State Secretary Hillary Clinton on the occasion of the bishop’s consecration and appointment to the position of the Apostolic Exarch for Ukrainian Greek Catholics of France, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland and Luxemburg.

“It is, undoubtedly, a great day for Syracuse [editor: city where Bishop Borys was born]. I hope this letter will find You in good health. It has been a pleasure for me to know You for many years.  I hope we will have an opportunity to meet again in the near future. Until then, please accept my best wishes,” reads the address of Mrs. Clinton, the Information Department of the UGCC reported.
