Holocaust Memorial defaced in Nikopol

On June 16, in Nikopol, the memorial to the Holocaust victims was defaced with swastikas by unidentified persons overnight, the website of Dnepropetrovsk Jewish community reports.

On June 16, in Nikopol, the memorial to the Holocaust victims was defaced with swastikas by unidentified persons overnight, the website of Dnepropetrovsk Jewish community reports.

Community members reported the incident to law enforcement and filed a relevant statement in the police station. According to executive director of the Jewish community of Nikopol Olexander Taratuta, police are actively searching for criminals.

It should be noted that the Ukrainian national underground and local OUN leader Fedir Vovk recognized the Righteous Among the Nations by the Israeli Yad Vashem Institute, was involved in saving Jews from the Nazi genocide in Nikopol region.
