Hungarian official inaugurates renovated Catholic school in Ukraine

State secretary at the Hungarian justice ministry Bence Retvari inaugurated a Catholic school, renovated with the Hungarian government’s help, in Ukraine’s Mukachevo (Munkacs) on Saturday.

State secretary at the Hungarian justice ministry Bence Retvari inaugurated a Catholic school, renovated with the Hungarian government’s help, in Ukraine’s Mukachevo (Munkacs) on Saturday.

It is a priority for Hungary that educational and cultural facilities of the ethnic Hungarian community in Transcarpathia are renewed, Retvari said at the ceremony.

The state secretary said that both Hungary and Ukraine were contributing a million dollars each to a renovation programme of Hungarian facilities in the region. He noted that so far more than 60 such institutions had been renovated.
