The Orthodox Church of St. Fotinia in Izmir will host a liturgy in Ukrainian for the first time

With the assistance of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul and the Association of Ukrainians of Izmir in the Orthodox Church of St. Fotinia will host a liturgy in Ukrainian for the first time.

According to Ukrinform, this is stated on the event's Facebook page.

So, on October 16 at 10.00 in the Church of St. Fotinia in Izmir, the Liturgy in Ukrainian will be celebrated by Fr. Yakiv Krochak, Great Sinkel of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, especially for the Ukrainian-speaking parish.

Also, after the service, there is an opportunity to gather for a tea party in the kindergarten at the church and get to know Fr. Yakiv and each other.

"This is a great opportunity to remember our Ukrainian roots and cultural heritage! We are waiting for everyone," the message reads.

The Association of Ukrainians of Izmir has announced the opening of a Ukrainian Book Club.
