I want to appeal to the international community – let us not be silent, let us do everything so at least humanitarian convoys can get to those cities that are now in the clutches of a brutal enemy. His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, called for this in his daily military appeal on the tenth day of Russia's war against Ukraine.

According to him, on the tenth day of this blood-shedding war, we are especially turning our thoughts to our cities in the north, east and south of Ukraine. Ukraine struggles. Ukraine prays. Ukraine serves.

That night our thoughts were directed to Kharkiv, said the Major Archbishop, where almost 20 centimeters of snow fell yesterday, but at night the sounds of enemy aircraft were heard again, and enemy bombs rained down on a peaceful city, bringing death and destruction. Our thoughts were directed to Sumy because street fights begin there. We pray for the wounded Chernihiv, for the dozens of victims of bombs and missiles.

“But today, most of all, our hearts are bleeding for cities that are blocked by the enemy and where the humanitarian catastrophe really occurs. Our thoughts flow to Mariupol, to Volnovakha, to Kherson. The enemy blocks and surrounds large cities. they do not allow people to leave, do not allow any supplies of food. The enemy's bombs fly over the cities, sowing death. Lord, save your people”, urges the Head of the Church.

The Head of the Church said that we pray over and over again to the Lord for our Ukrainian army, for our girls and boys who cover Ukraine with their breasts, who are dying for the free future of their Homeland. God bless our army! God, send the heavenly army of your angels, your Archangel Michael, to protect, bless, support our army!

He noted that when the enemy bombards the city, many buildings quickly turn into a cold trap without heat, without light, without water. We have a way to help them, but our help is not allowed there.

“I want to appeal to those who can help these people on the international level. Let them create humanitarian corridors, let green roads of life be opened so that civilians can move to a safe place, and let humanitarian convoys bring warmth, food and human solidarity to those people”, the Head of the UGCC called for.

The Head of the UGCC also thanked the volunteers. “In this terrible time, everyone has to become a volunteer. Everyone who stays in peaceful areas, everyone who guards their Motherland without weapons today. Each of us today must serve our neighbor with our Christian love that acts”.

“Let us do everything to stop this war. God, save Ukraine! God, send people wisdom and reason so that dialogue prevails over war! God bless us all”, the Head of the UGCC addressed the world community.
