The Security Service of Ukraine has completed counterintelligence (security) activities at the UOC-MP facilities located in the Kherson, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr and Volyn regions.

This is reported by the SBU.

Russian passports, pro-Kremlin literature, "documents" of the occupation administrations and flags of terrorist organizations of the "L/DPR" were found on the territory of the dioceses.

In addition, it is established that during the seizure of Kherson, local Archimandrite Alexy (Fedorov), rector of the Holy Dormition Cathedral in Kherson, was present in the Kremlin hall during the announcement of the annexation of four Ukrainian regions. RISU once posted a story about this.

A few days before the liberation of the city, accompanied by Russian invaders, he fled to the temporarily occupied areas of southern Ukraine.

On the territory of the cathedral, SBU officers found a collection of icons stolen by rashists from the House of the honorary consul of the Republic of Lithuania during the occupation of Kherson.

As a result of further inspection of the church premises, passes issued in the name of the "Federal Council of the civil-military administration of the Russian Federation" and Russian passports of local priests were found. Moreover, they received them this year during the occupation of Kherson by the rushists.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated on the exposed facts under Part 2 of Article 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

At the same time, the flag of the so-called "Novorossiya" and a library with propaganda literature by Russian authors were found in the Krasnohirsk Holy Intercession Convent in the Cherkasy region.

And on the territory of the monastery of Ovruch-Korostensky diocese and the Skete in Zhytomyr region, former criminals who keep in touch with subscribers of the Russian Federation were exposed. Now these contacts are being checked by the SBU.

In another monastery of Zhytomyr region, a person was found who has been on the national wanted list as a missing person since 2020.

During the inspection of the premises of the St. Nicholas Miletsky Monastery, texts of prayers for the aggressor country and Russian "textbooks" praising the Kremlin regime were found.

Now all the seized materials have been sent for examination for further procedural actions.

"We reiterate that in its activities, the SBU adheres to the principle of impartiality to the activities of any religious denomination and respects the right of every citizen to freedom of worldview and religion, as defined by the Constitution of Ukraine. Security measures were carried out by SBU officers of the Kherson, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr and Volyn regions," the SBU said.
