The conference intends to discuss the role and importance of the persons (liquidators) during the Chernobyl accident and make recommendations on the outreach work in Ukraine.
Organizers of the conference are the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and Roman Catholic Church in partnership with the International educational center of the city of Dortmund, Germany, and St. Thomas Aquinas Institute.
The conference intends to discuss the role and importance of the persons (liquidators) during the Chernobyl accident and make recommendations on the outreach work in Ukraine.
The issues to be discussed: problems and prospects of studying the preservation of creation; the role of the Church and society in addressing environmental issues; examples of overcoming the consequences of the Chernobyl accident; implementation of educational activities for children and youth to prevent disasters of such scale in the future.
Participants: Chernobyl liquidators and parliamentary representatives on Environmental Policy, scientists, teachers and students, representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations and international institutions of Ukraine, Belarus, Germany, representatives of diplomatic missions and the media.
