As part of the international “Black Sea Security Forum 2026” held in Odesa, a Prayer Breakfast took place on May 30, gathering over 300 participants. Attendees included military personnel, veterans, chaplains, representatives from government, local government, business, the civil society sector, and international partners.

According to the UGCC Department for Information, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church was represented by Bishop Mykhaylo Bubniy, the Exarch of Odesa, and military chaplain Fr. Ruslan Ostafiy.

Among the honored guests at the event were U.S. senators and congressmen, representatives of the American diplomatic corps, and European statesmen. Additionally, delegates from Georgia, Great Britain, Romania, Croatia, and other countries attended the meeting.

The participants of the Prayer Breakfast gathered to pray for Ukraine, its defenders, the nation's security, and a just and victorious peace.

A key aspect of the event was a charity fundraiser, with proceeds dedicated to supporting families in urgent need, including orphans, the elderly, the wounded, and the families of military personnel who have lost their lives in service.

The Black Sea Security Forum acts as an international platform for discussing security challenges in the Black Sea region. During the forum, participants also addressed international support for Ukraine and coordinated security-sector efforts.
