During a meeting between US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on December 21, it was stressed that the Ukrainian people have been fighting evil for 300 days after the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.

President Biden recalled that at the time of the meeting, the fourth night of Hanukkah had already arrived, and he compared the courage of the Ukrainian people with the history of this holiday because Ukrainians are fighting invaders who exceed in number, just as the Greeks exceeded the Maccabees in number.
"Today is the fourth night-the night of Hanukkah, a time when Jews around the world — President Zelensky and many families among them-celebrate the timeless miracle of a small group of warriors who fought for their values and freedom against a much larger enemy and how they endured and how they won; how the flame of faith, which lasted only one day, burned brightly for eight days.
A story of survival and resilience that reminds us, on the coldest days of the year, that light will always overcome darkness, hope drives away despair, and the human spirit is irresistible as long as there are good people willing to do what's right," Biden said.
The US president said that his state will continue to support Ukraine in this difficult war.
