Kuchma's Gregorian Calendar Christmas Message

On December 25, 2001 President Leonid Kuchma sent greetings to those Ukrainians who celebrate Christmas according to the Gregorian calendar.

“This holiday gives warmth to all Christians throughout the world regardless of their nationality, their religious-cultural tradition or their views. The perpetual greatness and importance of the Christmas event is explained by its truly universal meaning,’’ the president remarked in his Christmas message. Kuchma expressed his respect for the spiritual convictions of all denominations in Ukraine. He wished all Ukrainians “a Merry Christmas.”
