Kyiv is prepared to welcome Pope Francis at any time.

According to Velyky Kyiv, the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, recently stated this in an interview with the Italian TV channel Sky TG24.

"Kuleba stated, 'We will welcome Pope Francis with open arms. Ukraine and the Pope stand for peace. Our invitation is still valid. The invitation always stands, so he can come at any time.' According to him, he does not know why the Pontiff has not yet come to Ukraine.

Kuleba said that negotiations with the Vatican were ongoing, and the invitation had not been rejected. He added that he was confident that people in Ukraine would be very grateful and happy to welcome Pope Francis during this period."
