Kyiv City Council Refuses to Prohibit Construction Near Holy Sophia

Deputies of the Kyiv City Council refused to cancel the decision to allocate to the Investment Building Group Ltd a land plot in the buffer zone of Sophia of Kyiv for construction.

Deputies of the Kyiv City Council have refused to cancel the decision to allocate to the Investment Building Group Ltd a land plot in the buffer zone of St. Sophia of Kyiv for construction, Tetiana Melikhova, the head of the Motherland faction of Yulia Tymoshenko in the Kyiv Council, reported.

“Despite the fact that the Head of KCSA [Kyiv City State Administration], Oleksandr Popov, allegedly is on the public’s side and disputes the decision of the Kyiv City Council to allocate a land plot for the construction of a residential complex at 17-23 Olesia Honchara Street as the third party in court, the majority of the deputies of the Kyiv Council, who are under his control, do not support his position,” said the deputy.

She stressed that only 34 deputies voted to cancel the mentioned decision, reported Ukrainska Pravda.
