The most imposrtant Islamic holiday, Kurban-Bayram ('Id Al Adha), which is celebrated on the 10th day of the month of Zul Hija, on August 21, was celebrated in the mosque Ar-Rahma, on Podil. More than 3,000 believers gathered here. They include the Crimean Tatars, representatives of the Azerbaijani community, and Bangladeshis, and Africans – all of them, on August 21, assembled to celebrate the religious holiday, regardless of nationality.

“Kurban-Bayram is the holiday that was left to us by the prophet Ibraham (Abrahim), for us he was an example of patience and humility, and he received the command of God to sacrifice his son Ishmael, whom he loved so much, and he was ready to do it, but a she-goat was sent for him to slaughter, and this tradition has remained to this day. The meat is divided into three parts this day: one third is given to the needy, one is given as a gift, and the remaining third is retained for own family and we cannot sell such meat, only distribute,” said Iman Hassan Akhatov.
Imam noted that Muslims prayed for peace in Ukraine.
The guests of the holiday were treated to the lamb, pilaff and other oriental dishes. They came here in whole families - with wives and children. For the children, entertainment was aranged for - inflatable trampoline, designated playground area with an animator. This is reported by Vechirny Kyiv.
The holiday Kurban-Bayram will last for 4 days.
