“By the grace of God, today at 09:00 our main Shrine - the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra has been reopened. The quarantine regime has been lifted,” Bishop Viktor (Kotsaba) wrote in his Telegram channel.

On April 13, the authorities of Kyiv decided to close the monastery for quarantine in connection with an outbreak of infection in the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.


After the lockdown, the police took the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra under guard. No one was allowed in or out of the territory.

It was reported that the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra would remain closed to the public until the Kyiv Commission on technogenic and environmental safety makes a different decision.

The Head of the UOC-MP, Metropolitan Onufriy, as reported by various media and sources, also contracted the virus, Glavcom reports.
