On the morning of October 1, FSB officers in Crimea raided the homes of Jehovah's witnesses in Sevastopol.
This is reported by the publication "Graty".
It is already known about searches at nine addresses, at least five people were detained for investigative measures.
A criminal case has been instituted (Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against four Jehovah's Witnesses, one of whom is the former head of a religious community in the city, Yevhen Zhukov.
In Sevastopol, until 2017, there were two registered legal entities - the local Christian religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses "Primorske" and the local Christian religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses in Sevastopol, which was headed by Zhukov.
The local Christian religious organization of Jehovah's witnesses in Sevastopol was registered on November 12, 1997. In May 2015, the parish was registered with the tax authority within the framework of Russian legislation, but in May 2017 it was liquidated by a court decision after the organization was declared banned in Russia.
The criminal case against Yevhen Zhukov is already the fifth in Crimea after the beginning of the annexation.
