Metropolitan Epifaniy and leaders of Ukrainian and EU parliaments pay tribute to fallen defenders

On September 17, 2025, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and all Ukraine met with Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, who arrived in Kyiv that day, along with Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament.

After the meeting, the memory of fallen Ukrainian soldiers was honored with the placement of lamps at the Wall of Remembrance memorial, situated on the walls of St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery, as reported by the press service of the OCU.

During his visit to the memorial, the Primate of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine shared with Roberta Metsola the initiative to establish this special memorial site as a symbol of gratitude to all those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of their homeland.

The President of the European Parliament also expressed interest in the exhibition of destroyed Russian military equipment located in St. Michael's Square, which showcases the courage of the Ukrainian army and the defeat of the aggressor.
