Metropolitan Epifaniy met with Archbishop Giuseppe Satriano of the Diocese of Bari Bitonto

On December 16, 2024, the Head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine met with the Archbishop of the Diocese of Bari Bitonto of the Roman Catholic Church, Monsignor Giuseppe Satriano, at his residence at the city's Cathedral.

According to the press service of the OCU, Metropolitan Epifaniy thanked Archbishop Satriano for the opportunity to pray and be inspired by the relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and for his solidarity with long-suffering Ukraine.

During the meeting, which was also attended by representatives of the Ukrainian diplomatic corps, the participants discussed the recent meeting of the OCU Primate with Pope Francis, the pilgrimages of Ukrainian believers to the relics of St. Nicholas and other topics of common interest.

At the end of the friendly communication, they exchanged memorable gifts, after which Metropolitan Epifaniy visited the Cathedral and, in its crypt, together with the clergy, prayed for Ukraine before the revered icon of the Virgin Mary “Hodegetria” and viewed the exhibition of the Diocesan Museum of Bari Bitonto.
