Metropolitan Jonathan (Yeleckykh) of Tulchyn of the UOC, who was released by the Ukrainian authorities at the request of Patriarch Kirill (Gundyaev) of Moscow, left Ukraine.

This was reported by the Christians Against War Telegram channel.

The press service of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, commenting on the festive service in the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Minsk last Saturday, noted that "Metropolitan Jonathan (Yeleckykh) of Tulchyn and Bratslav prayed at the service."

The hierarch was previously sentenced to five years in prison with confiscation of property for justifying and recognizing the legitimacy of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and glorifying its participants. This court decision was recently confirmed by the Vinnytsia Court of Appeal. On June 12, during a court hearing, Metropolitan Jonathan refused to be included in the list for the exchange of prisoners of war.
