Metropolitan of UOC-MP Passes to President Putin Copy of Lutsk Gospel

Metropolitan Nyfont of Lutsk and Volyn of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate passed to Russian President Vladimir Putin a copy of the facsimile edition of the Lutsk Gospel, a monument of the 14th century.

According to UNIAN, the metropolitan presented the unique book to a representative of the Library of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, Natalia Havrylenko, to be passed to the Russian President.

“The Volyn Eparchy received in 2004 part of the funds to finance the construction of the Cathedral of All Saints in Lutsk. Let me thank you for the financial support and please accept as a token of gratitude the Lutsk Gospel,” reads the letter of Metropolitan Nyfont.

Another two copies of the book were passed to the Russian State Library. Earlier, the Gospel of the time of the Galician-Volyn Principality was presented in the spiritual educational institutions of Moscow.
