Metropolitan Symeon of Vinnytsia and Bar of the OCU appealed to the hierarchs of the Greek Church to support the Ecumenical Patriarch and the OCU.

He said this in an interview with Greek journalists, the translation of the passage from which was cited by the speaker of the Diocese of Vinnytsia and Bar, hieromonk Sophrony, reports "Religiyna Pravda" (Religious Truth).

“On behalf of the faithful, clergy and bishops of our Church, I would like to appeal to the hierarchs of the Church of Greece requesting them to support His Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew of the Ecumenical Church at this difficult time of the formation of our young Church, to give us the brotherly hand of love and become the first after the Ecumenical Throne who will say to our faithful: “Christ is in our midst!” The first support is the most necessary and the most precious, and the Orthodox Church of Ukraine will never forget it,” Metropolitan Symeon stressed.

Also, during the interview, the Bishop answered questions about the Unification Council, life after the Tomos and the situation in the Diocese of Vinnytsia and Bar of the OCU.

As RISU has already reported, on October 12, Saturday, the Extraordinary Council of hierarchs of the Greek Orthodox Church will consider the Ukrainian question. On October 7, at the beginning of the Synod meeting, His Beatitude Hieronymos II, Archbishop of Athens and all Greece, signed a relevant decree.
