Metropolitan Volodymyr Marks 44th Anniversary of His Episcopal Consecration

KYIV – On July 9, 2010, holiday the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate Metropolitan Volodymyr, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated on the square in front of the Kyiv Cave Monastery.

Also praying at the service was representative of the Patriarchate of Constantinople Bishop Athenagoras of Sinope. At the divine service the primate prayed for the repose of the presently reposed hierarchs, who performed the episcopal consecration of Metropolitan Volodymyr.   

At the end of the Liturgy His Grace Athenagoras greeted Metropolitan Volodymyr on the anniversary of his episcopal consecration and reported the greetings of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople.  

On his part the archpastor thanked the guest for the greeting words and greeted the clergymen and faithful on commemoration of the Icon of the Mother of God of Tikhvin.  

Also at the end of the divine service Metropolitan Volodymyr was greeted by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov.
