Monument to Cardinal Lubachivsky unveiled in his home town

Head of the UGCC Sviatoslav Shevchuk on August 10 in the town of Dolyna, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, took part in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Cardinal Ivan Myroslav Lubachivsky, head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (1984-2000).

Head of the UGCC Sviatoslav Shevchuk on August 10 in the town of Dolyna, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, took part in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Cardinal Ivan Myroslav Lubachivsky, head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (1984-2000).


The main celebrations were held in the church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin. According to the Department of Information of the UGCC, addressing the faithful during the Divine Liturgy, Patriarch Sviatoslav, present head of the UGCC, expressed his gratitude to the land that gave the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and the people such a great leader as Myroslav Ivan Lubachivsky.

After the Liturgy UGCC Patriarch consecrated the monument to Cardinal Ivan Myroslav Lubachivsky.
