Moscow Orthodox Metropolitan Volodymyr Visits Moldova

Metropolitan Volodymyr Sabodan, head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), visited the country of Moldova from 17 to 18 August 2002.

On 18 August, the metropolitan and Belarusian, Russian, and Ukrainian hierarchs concelebrated a Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Nativity in Chisinau, the country’s capital. The festivities in Chisinau were dedicated to the 50th birthday of Metropolitan Volodymyr of Moldova. Metropolitan Sabodan awarded Metropolitan Volodymyr of Moldova the order of Sts. Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves of the UOC-MP. During his stay in Moldova, Metropolitan Sabodan visited Orthodox churches, a children's home and a women’s monastery. Source: www.orthodox.org.ua
