Myths that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church does not support the Ukrainian army and patriotic sentiments are unfavorableas they provoke inter-confessional conflict.

The expert of Humanities and Social Policy Department under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Yuriy Reshetnikov was reported as saying thisby the Information Center of the UOC.

“I will not go into conspiracy version of who benefits from these myths, I’d only  say that they areunfavorable  for Ukrainian society and Ukrainian state,as they provoke interreligious confrontation, which is quite dangerous in the context of war against Ukraine,” said Reshetnikov.

According to the expert, a significant role in this contextis played by the incompetence of those who work with information and can consciously or unconsciously contribute to the creation of such myths.

“Yes, unfortunately, these myths have appreciable impact at the level of social consciousness and it is obvious that their formation and feeding are the result of consciously or unconsciously incorrect work of representatives of many information sources,” the expert stresses.
