“Night to Shine” fest celebrates differently abled people

About 200 people became participants of the “Night to Shine” fest in Odessa. Such holidays are held annually on February 8 throughout the world. In Ukraine, Odessa was no exception. The same celebrations took place in Kyiv and Lutsk.

According to the website of the All-Ukrainian Union of Churches of Evangelical Christian Baptists, the event took place in the restaurant Cellini, located in the historic part of Odessa on Oleksandr Avenue. The limousines brought here the participants - people with special needs. The Christian program was well thought out, the sermon was delivered by the pastors of the Odessa churches "Trinity" and "Grace" by Sergei Rybakov and Igor Kuchera. There was the awarding of prizes and crowns.

The preparation of such events involves hundreds of thousands of volunteers. For people with disabilities this day various services are provided free of charge, including hairdressing, makeup, shoe shine, limousine ride. The culmination is the festive coronation of the “queens” and “kings” of the evening.

The founder and author of the idea is the American football player Tim Thibault. The purpose of the movement is to show the attitude of Christians to people with disabilities and God's love for them. In Ukraine, celebrations are already held in Odessa, Kyiv, Lviv and Lutsk.

Anna Konstantinova, mother of one of the participants, shared on her FB page: “Yesterday a real miracle happened in Odessa! For the first time, we had an unforgettable Hollywood night with a real red carpet and limousine, where there were real kings and queens, where the atmosphere of warmth and full love was reigning. Great thanks to the Heritage Foundation and to all the organizers of such a wonderful event! May God bless you in all your good deeds! P.S. We are still impressed and in the crown.”

In Odessa, the organizer of the holiday was the charity foundation “Heritage” (Spadshchyna). Its director Vyacheslav Puzanov shared the impression, “It was unforgettable, colorful, enthusiastic, really royal! Great privilege to be part of such a project! The Heritage Foundation expresses its sincere gratitude to the medical company Into-Sana for participating in the event.
