“Novynsky is paid handsomely to spread lies about the persecution of Christians in Ukraine,” - SBU Reserve Major General Yahun

Viktor Yahun, Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (2014-2015), Major General of the Security Service of Ukraine, military and public figure, believes that a law banning the UOC-MP should be adopted immediately.

Yahun stated this on the Espreso TV channel.

"If we were to pass a law that clearly regulates the activities of religious structures affiliated with the aggressor country, the problem would be promptly solved. However, there are no legal grounds for doing so. Our enemies in the countries where we seek support (primarily in the United States) are quick to react to such steps," Yahun noted.

According to the Major General of the Reserve of Ukraine’s Security Service, it is hard to imagine the extent of the lobby for the persecution of so-called Christians.

"Such statements are made without clarifying who persecutes who. When Ukrainian Protestants met with the speaker of the Senate, they explained that we share the same faith and told him about real persecution. Everything fell into place then. At the same time, a lot of money was invested into spreading fakes about Christians being persecuted in Ukraine. This situation requires a way around all these religious issues and a clear legal solution, which depends on the Parliament," Yahun emphasized.
