OCU: No court can make Moscow Patriarchate a non-Moscow one
No court decision will be able to conceal the fact that the Constitutional Court instituted proceedings on the name change of the UOC-Moscow Patriarchate. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate is affiliated with Moscow. This was stated by the deputy head of the Department of External Church Relations of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Archbishop Yevstratiy (Zorya).
“No court is capable of making the Moscow Patriarchate a non-Moscow one,” he wrote on his Facebook page, commenting on the decision of the court to suspend the renaming of the UOC-MP, TSN reports.
“The point is that the organization does not want to be called what it really is – the Moscow Patriarchate, but wants to further conceal its affiliation with the Moscow Patriarchate. Including from those who go to it,” added Yevstratiy (Zorya) in the comments to his post.
The Archbishop also added that in a few days, the OCU “will be recalling about two of the most infamous court sessions in the entire human history.”
