The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epifaniy, called on Ukrainians to pray for the country's health professionals and provide all possible assistance to doctors, as he noted on his Facebook page.

“The health professionals, doctors of various specialties, nurses, laboratory assistants and paramedics, pharmacists, pharmacologists and others are not only doing their job but perform a real feat of service to people. It is performed without pathos and not for the public, but for the sake of implementing the vocation to do good and save others — which is a deeply Christian cause in essence. Therefore, we are grateful to all those who today, despite the risks to their health, their problems and concerns, save lives, help ease pain, overcome diseases and protect others from it,” he said in a message.

Metropolitan Epifaniy added “Many people find it difficult to imagine the complexity of your profession because you have a great value in your hands — human life. Therefore, you are the one who has the highest responsibility, the greatest stress and load. Hold on! Our support and prayers are with you! Our priests, along with other volunteers, provide all possible assistance to help you in your ministry, to help you bear the burden of your ministry. We pray for you daily in our monasteries and temples.”
