OCU Primate Epifaniy meets with Ecumenical Patriarch

09.03.2025, 15:23

On the day of honoring the memory of the Holy Great Martyr Theodore the Tyron, the Lord granted us the opportunity to visit the majestic city of Constantinople and meet with His All-Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

The Primate of the OCU wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“In a pleasant, friendly conversation, we discussed contemporary challenges, touched upon humanitarian initiatives, the release of our defenders from captivity and the painful issue of the return of illegally deported Ukrainian children,” Metropolitan Epifaniy said.

The Primate of the OCU emphasized that Patriarch Bartholomew once again unequivocally condemned Russian aggression against Ukraine and assured that he was praying for our heroic Ukrainian people and the longed-for victory of Ukraine.

“While at the Patriarchal residence, on behalf of the fullness of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, I once again cordially congratulated Patriarch Bartholomew on his 85th birthday. May the All-Merciful Lord multiply the years of His Holiness' life, grant him good health, and generously bless with success all his many good and God-pleasing deeds for many years! Thanks be to God for everything!” said the Primate of the OCU.
