The OCU spokesman, Archbishop Yevstratiy (Zorya) commented on his Facebook page regarding the information about the possible postponement of the date of celebration of Christmas and the transition of the ptsu to the new Julian calendar.

"Hasty calendar reform (and even ill-conceived one-off attempts are now advertised it as "doubling the celebration") will potentially preserve thousands of communities with millions of believers in the Moscow Patriarchate and will bring confusion to Ukrainian Orthodoxy for decades to come," he said and noted that the risks from the reform of the Church calendar are now obvious and real.

As reported, the Primate of the OCU, Metropolitan Epifaniy has statted that the OCU was going to change the date of celebration of Christmas and to carry out reform of a Church calendar only when the majority of Ukrainians will be ready to it.
