In late June, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine will give its assessment of the "Council" to be held by Patriarch Emeritus Filaret on June 20. Father Mykhailo, Press Secretary to Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Primate of the OCU, said it in Kultura.Live Program of Radio Culture, as reported by Ukrainian Radio.
"Of course, the statement by the Orthodox Church of Ukraine specifies that the so-called Council can incur all the relevant canonical consequences. The kind of consequences incurred will be decided upon by the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. So we will get acquainted with them at the end of June," said Fr Mykhailo.
He has noted that the 'Council' convened by Filaret can be called "a meeting with no canonical status."
