Odesa Jewish community denied harassment of Jews

Berl Kapulkin, the press secretary of the Odesa Jewish community, issued a statement protesting lies by the Russian propaganda about the alleged harassment of Jews in Odesa by the Pravy Sector radicals, Glavnoie reported Oct. 8, according to ZIK.

 “Our members are receiving calls from all over the world about the declaration of by Mikhail Maiman, who described himself as the leader of the Odesa community. In fact, there is no Maiman among our members,” the official said.

 “There were no attacks on Jews, we haven’t made any declarations concerning the alleged harassment and attacks,” Berl Kapulkin said.

Only Odesa’s Chief Rabbi Avraam Wolf or his press service can make political statements, the official stressed.
