Official Delegation of the Church of Rome to the Ecumenical Patriarchate

An Official Delegation of the Church of Rome visits the Seat of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in order to attend, on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, the feast of the memory of St. Apostle Andrew the First-Called, founder of the Church of Constantinople.

On the afternoon of Sunday, November 28, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received the Pontifical Delegation, headed by Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of Christian Unity, and its members, Bishop Brian Farrell, Secretary of the Council, Fr. Andrea Palmieri, Under Secretary, and Fr. Walter Erbi, from the Apostolic Nunciature in Turkey.

The meeting, which took place in a cordial atmosphere, was attended by the Metropolitans Emmanuel of Chalcedon and Polykarpos of Italy, Archbishop Job of Telmessos, Co-Chair of the International Joint Committee for Theological Dialogue of the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Church, and the Grand Protosyncellus Theodore and Grand Archimandrite Agathagelos and Archivist of the Patriarchate and Secretary of the Synodal Committee on the Dialogue with the Roman Catholic Church.
