The Redemptorist Youth Congress started in Lviv. More than 500 participants from different countries arrived to Lviv to pray, share, and have fun together.

The organizer, Fr. Roman Lahish (CSsR) noted: “At this meeting we want to open the uniqueness and beauty of the Byzantine rite. We would like to show Ukraine – a country of decorated churches with golden domes, splendid iconostasis and our spirituality with young people, especially when almost 99 percent of the participants represent the Latin rite. And for the first tome they participate in the eastern liturgy. We can call such congresses the festivals of faith. It builds the church as a community, it is the international face and it shows that regardless of age, language, and color, Christ can unite all. I am very glad that Redemptorists decided to hold this congress in Ukraine”.

“In the morning our guests have catechism, discussion clubs and meditation,”  explained Galina Onyshko, a member of the board of organizer.  “In the afternoon there are workshops: every country has its authentic workshop. In the evening there are country presentations. We have 50 Ukrainian volunteers from different parishes and cities to help the participants from other countries.”
