With the blessing of the Protosyncellus of the Ordinariate for the Eastern Catholic Churches of Austria, Fr. Yurii Kolasa, and in cooperation with the UGCC Patriarchal Commission on Youth Affairs, the Pastoral Care for Ukrainian Youth was established to provide spiritual care to Ukrainian youth living in Austria.

Fr. Damian Haborii, a priest of the Kyiv Archeparchy of the UGCC, who is currently serving in Austria, became the coordinator of the Pastoral Care. This was reported by the UGCC Department for Information, citing the press service of the Pastoral Care of Ukrainian Youth in Austria.

On March 13, the first pastoral meeting of Fr. Damian Haborii with Ukrainian youth was held in St Barbara's Church in Vienna, during which they discussed the participation of Ukrainian youth in the Jubilee Youth Pilgrimage to Rome, monthly formation meetings “Pilgrims of Hope”, the organization of youth summer camps in Austria, and the celebration of the Day of Ukrainian Youth in Austria.

According to Fr. Damian, the Pastoral Care aims to assist local Ukrainian pastors in serving youth and to create a platform for meetings of Ukrainian youth in Austria.
