Patriarch Dymytrii of UAOC Remembered in Kharkiv

The Kharkiv and Poltava Eparchy of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church honoured the memory of Patriarch Dymytrii of Kyiv and All Ukraine (09.12.1915-25.02.2000), the initiator of the renewal of UAOC in Ukraine and successor of Patriarch Mstyslav.

The Kharkiv and Poltava Eparchy of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church honoured the memory of Patriarch Dymytrii of Kyiv and All Ukraine (09.12.1915-25.02.2000), the initiator of the renewal of UAOC in Ukraine and successor of Patriarch Mstyslav.

On 24 February, in St. Demetrios’ Church in Kharkiv,

Archbishop Іhor Isichenko led a memorial service for the repose of Patriarch Dymytrii. According to the web site of the eparchy, during his sermon, the hierarch mentioned various gifts of Patriarch Dymytrii, his profound faith deeply rooted in the popular Galician religiosity, his constant care for the eparchy which he frequently and gladly visited as the senior priest of St. Peter and Paul Parish in Lviv and during his patriarchal service in 1993-1999.

On 23-25 February, the memorial services were served in all the parish communities.
