On 27 October-5 November, Patriarch Filaret of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate visited USA. The primate visited Ukrainian parishes, ordained a priest and met with a Roman Catholic cardinal during that time.
According to the web site of UOC-KP, Patriarch Filaret was accompanied by the Administrator of the Kyivan Patriarchate, Bishop Agapit of Vyshhorod and Professor of the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy, Dmytro Stepovyk.
On 28 October, the hierarch celebrated a liturgy in the Church of the Holy Sophia in Chicago which marks its 60th anniversary this year. The patriarch ordained Deacon Petro Mazepa priest.
On 30 October, the delegation of UOC-KP led by Patriarch Filaret met with the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Chicago, Cardinal Frencis Eugene George.
