Patriarch Filaret Serves Memorial Service At Holodomor Monument in USA
During his pastoral trip to USA, the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate, Patriarch Filaret on 5 November participated in a conference in the parish hall of the community of the Holy Archistratig Michael. Then, the primate accompanied by the clergy and faithful served a memorial service at the Holodomor Monument in the city of Uniondale and later, consecrated a church bell of the parish of Ascension in Clifton, New Jersey. On 6 November, Patriarch Filaret celebrated a liturgy in the Church of Archistratig Michael where he ordained deacon Oleh Satsiuk priest and granted the Senior Priest of the Church of the Holy Intercession in Clifton, Fr. Yaroslav Yarish the title of protopriest.
The visit of Patriarch Filaret began on 4 November and will end on 16 November. The primate visits the parishes in USA each year in November.
