Patriarch Kirill: Kyiv to Become Center of Russian World Again

The main theme and motto of the 4th Assembly of the Russian World, which is being held on November 2-4 in Moscow, is “Teacher of the 'Russian World': mission and values.”

The 4th Assembly of the Russian World is being held November 2-4, in Moscow. The event is traditionally held by the Russian World Foundation on the eve of the Russian Day of People’s Unity, reports religion.in.ua. The main theme and motto of the assembly, which is held in the Intellectual Center of M.V. Lomonosov’s Moscow State University, is “Teacher of the 'Russian World': mission and values.” 
 
Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, who participates in the forum, addressed the participants of the assembly. According to the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, it is the teacher who passes the wisdom of knowledge to future generations and forms the conscience of an individual and the society in general. The hierarch stressed in this regard that one should mention the pedagogical teacher’s role of the ROC as the preacher of the civilization values of the “Russian World.”
 
According to the patriarch’s concept, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, or other countries can become centers of the general, powerful Russian civilization, “on whose behalf they can speak with other civilization poles of the world at the top of their voice.”
 
The patriarch described the role of Kyiv in the Russian civilization in detail and stressed that today “historical conditions can assist to make Kyiv one of the most important political and public centers of the Russian World again.”
