With the blessing of Metropolitan Volodymyr of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, a delegation of Cossack chieftains of Ukraine participated in a celebratory service and meeting of Cossack chieftains of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow in Don Monastery in Moscow on December 4.
The Ukrainian delegation composed of the leaders of the Loyal Cossacks, Azov and Zaporizhzhia Cossack troops and Crimean organizations Glory and Freedom and the Unity Cossack Brotherhood was led by the head of the Synod’s Department on Pastoral Care for Cossacks of Ukraine and Spiritual and Physical Education of Youth, Bishop Iosyf of Yampil.
Patriarch Kirill thanked the Cossacks for the loyalty to the canonical Orthodox Church and presented a patriarchal letter to the Chieftain of the Loyal Cossacks, Aleksei Selivanov, reported the press service of the Synod’s Department on Pastoral Care for Cossacks of Ukraine and Spiritual and Physical Education of Youth.
