In his address dedicated to the completion of the local elections, the head of Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), Patriarch Lubomyr, noted that we are coming back to the lessons of 2004 again and again and in that situation, all the healthy forces should think what to say to the people and that "the church should also say something."

In his address dedicated to the completion of the local elections, the head of Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), Patriarch Lubomyr, noted that we are coming back to the lessons of 2004 again and again and in that situation, all the healthy forces should think what to say to the people and that "the church should also say something...We call every political leader declaring his or her readiness to unity to publicly state before the people what he or she is ready to sacrifice for the sake of achieving that goal."

In his address, the head of UGCC analyzes the consequences of the elections for the church, power, the people, and opposition. Patriarch Lubomyr sees the main way of repairing the current situation in consistent spiritual revival: "The only solution to the complicated social and political situation in Ukraine is not an increase in the level of the economy, not structural or personnel changes, but the improvement of the spiritual situation."

Patriarch Lubomyr called the deputies to not be limited only to declaring loud mottoes
. "As long as all the people are not convinced that all the economic or political steps are based on solid moral principles, there will be discord, misunderstanding, and disorder among the people. And all the people will suffer from that," noted the head of UGCC, reported the press service of UGCC.

Let us remind that the local elections of October 30
, 2010, in the opinion of many Western observers, were not held on a democratic basis.
