“Another important objective is to moralize public life, to bring God into people’s lives. Here’s an example, though trivial it may be: We must teach our people to stop supporting corruption. I am amused by the government’s great programs to combat corruption, by the legislative struggle against corruption. This is ridiculous! What is corruption? It is sin. And you cannot overcome sin with law. It is a matter of education. And if all the churches worked and trained the people, there would be change.

“The main task is to make the church a bigger part of our lives so that people feel the apostleship of the church and the need for sanctification,” stressed the hierarch.
