Communicating with hieromonks, monks and nuns, His Beatitude Sviatoslav assured that as the head of the UGCC, he would always support them and help them in their service. The head of the UGCC suggested creating a Council of communities dedicated to life here, which would “ensure effective communication and cooperation with the existing Patriarchal structures for monastic affairs”.
The head of the UGCC also spoke about preparations for the Patriarchal Council, which will be held on August 26-29 on the theme “Emigration, settlement and global unity of the UGCC”. He called on the monastic community to help the Church answer the three main questions of this Council: who are we? Where are we? How can we be together? “If we do not understand what we are, where our faithful are today, and how to preserve our unity, we will feel a crisis of vocations to monastic life,” said his Beatitude Sviatoslav.
The head of the UGCC also asked the monks to “pray for Ukraine and cherish a real spiritual life in the communities of monastic life.”
