Patriarch Sviatoslav: There are no secret negotiations on the unification of the OCU and the UGCC

22.12.2021, 09:41

"We have a certain plan for how to unite the once united but now divided Kyivan Church."

Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Sviatoslav said this during the live program "Actors" on Channel 5.

"No secret negotiations are being held. Everything is outspoken, open, and transparent. We do not yet see any opportunities for rapid unification, but we do see opportunities to unite in some specific matters, in the name of the good of our people and our Ukrainian state. It is obvious that we want all Christians to be united," His Beatitude Sviatoslav said.

He noted: "We have a certain plan, a certain invitation, how to unite the once united, but now divided Kyivan Church, but this has nothing to do with any behind-the-scenes agreements. I think there is no need to put forward or justify any secret conspiracy theories here."
