30.01.2025, 17:10

On its website, Russian MFA published a report “On the illegal actions of the Kyiv regime against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), its clergy and parishioners (as of November 30, 2024).”

This was reported by the Telegram channel Christians Against War.

The document covers events since 2018, overlooking the background and actions of the Russian authorities. It states that “for many years, the Kyiv authorities have been actively pursuing a course to eliminate the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), discriminate against its clergy, persecute both its clergy and faithful, and force the flock to join the artificially created schismatic ‘Orthodox Church of Ukraine’ (OCU).”

“It should be borne in mind that the events taking place in Ukraine fit into the overall picture of the systemic crisis of world Orthodoxy caused by the policy of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, the United States and other Western countries, which encourages schismatics,” the report says.
