The faithful of the Diocese of Cherkasy, Chernivtsi-Bukovyna, Poltava and Zaporizhia of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate are starting to build new churches and chapels.

On April 7, 2021, Archbishop Theodosius of Cherkasy and Kaniv consecrated the cornerstone of the new Church of the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica.
Construction of the church began on the territory of the chemical plant "Azot" in Cherkasy through the efforts and at the cost of the company's management and employees.
A memorial metal capsule with a fragment of the relics of The Venerable Martyr Makarii of Kanevsky and a blessed pledge letter are placed under the foundation stone.
On April 1, Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna visited the religious community of St. Paraskeva of Serbia in the village of Krasnaya Dubrava, Glybotsky district, Chernivtsi region. The bishop examined the site for a new liturgical building, the construction of which the faithful are forced to start after most of the community passed to the OCU.
On April 6, the site for the construction of a chapel in honor of the preeminent apostles, Sts Peter and Paul, was consecrated in the city of Horishni Plavni, Kremenchuk district Poltava region. With the blessing of Metropolitan Fylyp of Poltava and Myrhorod, the rite was performed by Bishop Veniamin of Novi Sanzhar,y vice-rector of the Poltava missionary Theological Seminary. The cornerstone of the chapel is laid in the industrial area (5th Carpool). The initiator of the construction is an honorary citizen and former mayor of the city Oleksandr Popov.
On April 4, the Sunday of Veneration of the Cross, a place for the construction of a chapel in honor of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt was consecrated in Zaporizhia. With the blessing of Metropolitan Luka of Zaporizhia and Melitopol, the rank was performed by priest Maksym Tokarenko. The chapel will be erected on the territory of the Renaissance residential complex (Velyky Luh).
