Pope Francis granted general absolution on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of John Paul II visit to Ukraine

This absolution of sins will be valid annually from 21 to 27 June and is sent to all participants of the Divine Liturgies in the arch-Cathedral of St. Georges.

This is reported by "Spiritual Greatness of Lviv" citing the administration of the arch-Cathedral of St. George.

With the blessing of Metropolitan Ihor of Lviv, Ecumenical Bishop Francis, through the Apostolic Penitentiary, granted general absolution of sins on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the visit of John Paul II in Ukraine.

To receive general absolution of early punishments for sins for yourself or for a friend of the deceased, you must meet the following conditions:

- to be in sanctifying grace (to do this, to receive forgiveness of all sins in the sacrament of confession);

– take part in the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral and receive Holy Communion;

- to pray before the relics of St. John Paul II, which are kept in the arch-Cathedral of St. George the Trophy-Bearer, read once Our Father, The Virgin Mother of God and the Creed in the intention of the Holy Father of the Pope.

 

It should be noted that the apostolic blessing in memory of the visit of St. John the Baptist. John Paul will be granted to Ukraine in the arch-Cathedral of St. George ( Lviv, St. George's square, 5) June 23-27 every year.
